Mental Health First Aid Training

We offer mental health first aid training to both public and private organisations across the Black Country.

Mental Health First Aid Training

This is a two-day course delivered either face-to-face or via online video conferencing. Learning takes place through a mix of instructor led training, group discussions, individual and group activities. Each session builds on the previous, enabling the learner to gain confidence in supporting others with a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Up to 16 people per course.

The course covers: Mental Health First Aid and the action plan, the MHFAider® role and self-care, helpful and unhelpful language, useful models to support the role, what influences mental health, information on some conditions including psychosis, suicide, active listening and empathy, crisis first aid, applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan, recovery and lived experience, boundaries in the MHFAider® role, moving forward in the MHFAider® role and developing your MHFA action plan 

Everyone who completes the course gets: A workbook to support their learning throughout the course, a digital manual to refer to whenever they need it​ after completing the course, a wallet-sized reference card with the Mental Health First Aid action plan,​ lanyard, a digital MHFAider® certificate, access to the MHFAider® Support App® for three years and access to ongoing learning opportunities, resources and events.

All of these courses can be delivered at our venue or at a venue of your choice.

Courses would be delivered by a qualified instructor with 13 years’ experience in MHFA and knowledge and experience of working in the mental health field.

Mental Health First Aid value this course at £325 per delegate.  We can offer this on a subsidized basis that is less 30%.
